Abstract
Inspector Matt Longman showed how forums generate ideas for improving the service in Devon and Cornwall Police at a time of financial stringency. Electric bicycles, for example, are a great way of improving visibility while ensuring that officers cover enough territory in remote rural areas.

Abstract
Innocent produces smoothies, juices and vegetable pots that are sold in supermarkets, coffee shops and other outlets. Headquartered in London, Innocent retails across Europe, employing a staff of 240, of whom 200 are based in London. In 2012 budgeted revenue is £200 million. Although Coca-Cola now owns 58% of the company, the three founders retain full operational control. At Innocent, innovation is an everyday behaviour with employees actively encouraged to suggest ways to improve the business, whether it be new products and business streams or better ways of working.

Abstract
Red Gate is a software company providing “ingeniously simple” tools for technology professionals worldwide. Founded by Neil Davidson and Simon Galbraith in 1999, it has annually featured in the Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For, since 2007 as well as numerous other awards. Although it is growing, Red Gate tries to maintain its original start-up, informal culture by using a variety of tools and initiatives to encourage employee-led innovation and strengthen its engaged culture.

Abstract
Case study for The Met Office in which Natalie Wilkie and Gary Holpin of The Met Office argue strongly that new ideas can come from anyone. A network of volunteers recruited from every level of the organisation is gradually establishing a culture of innovation in ways that break down silos and release new waves of creativity.
